Secret Optimism
What I am hoping for fervently is that when the dam finally bursts and the flood rages through, when the foul and the evil and the cruel are swept away, back to the sewers from which they crawled... I am hoping that when the waters recede that we as a civilization might learn something from the awful, awful mess that we've allowed to happen to our cities and countries and world, and take steps to ensure that it doesn't happen again.
One of my failings as a human is being secretly optimistic about people, although I will argue vehemently if you say that I do.
Hope? I do not have any in the short term, no sir.
Hope in the long term?
Hopefully.
