A Rainy Reminder
It’s rained for a good portion of the day, which was a welcome change. Even though Maine is filthy with lakes and ponds and rivers, it’s also apparently in a drought, or so I’ve heard. Many wells in the area have gone dry, but fortunately ours is not one of them.
I have lived in some extremely dry places in the country, and all things being equal, I much prefer living somewhere that the rain occasionally does fall. It’s pleasant to sit on the side porch and watch it coming down, hear it hitting the leaves on the trees. I forget how soothing that sound is.
The world sometimes will remind you that it’s a lovely place.
