Aching Fingers and Frozen Hands

Typewriter

There is an ache in my fingertips that does not go away. It’s a light sting, right at the pads, and I know it’s from the cold air outside. I go out in the mornings to care for the chickens, and I find my insulated winter gloves get in the way of some of the things I do, so I take them off when I’m at the coop. Recently, with wind chill, the temperature has been at a low of -6 degrees Fahrenheit, and my fingertips now growl at me while they recover from the exposure.

I am not the smartest of men when it comes to the cold.

I hope those chickens appreciate what I go through for them.

Spoiler: they do not.
